But when we get into a routine it becomes very difficult not to get frustrated when slight diversions happen. To help you avoid some of those little aggravations, we've put together a few steps to add to your routine that will prep you for any Workout Challenge.

Play List - Music not only moves your body, but also the soul. When you've got a feel-good attitude going, you can enjoy doing pretty much anything. Put together a list of your music that will get your thoughts ready to attack this workout and push you through the sweat and pain.

Fuel Up - You already know how important a diet is towards your fitness goals, and there are great foods out there that you can grab on the go for a quick burst of energy at the gym. But there are also many that are Energy-Erasing Foods. Pack a pre-workout snack that will carry through the regimen but not fill you up.

Check Your Gear - Nothing is worse than getting to the locker-room ready do some serious work and finding that you've left your shorts at home or you've got a broken shoelace. Check and maintain your gear regularly to avoid any mishaps at the gym or diversions from your routine.

Water - Make sure you have your water or a source of hydration available throughout the workout. Temperatures and exertion levels can zap your body of water in no time. Staying hydrated helps prevent cramping and cools you down to keep you charging forward.

Warm-up and Stretch - Sitting idle in your cube doesn't keep your muscles loose and limber. Before pounding on your pecks or running the 5K, take a preventive measure and just a little bit of time to warm up, get the blood flowing, and stretch out the stresses of the day.

We gave you A Plan to Persevere in 2010 at the beginning of the year, and now you can add these steps to keep you ahead of the game. Your regimen is a very personal thing and we want to see you succeed. So tell us about your workout and share with the rest of the 5-Hour Energy fans how you are blowing past goals and pushing even farther.

Is The Workout Challenge Too Tough?

It appears as though 5-Hour Energy's latest contest, the Workout Challenge, may be too tough for some of the fans. So to help you have a chance at winning the 1-year supply of 5-Hour Energy shots, we are going to make you a deal at some free answers.

First of all, the demands of the quiz shouldn't be a surprise; it's a challenge, not a cakewalk. It's all things that 5-Hour Energy fans love, a little challenge to bolster your competitive side, and the chance at drinking 5-Hour Energy shots for a year to motivate you to study!

Remember, this is a quiz to test your attentiveness to detail. We're examining your knowledge of energy drinks and how they can affect your workout along with some questions that your dog could answer while asleep. We are also giving you all the study materials you need right there on the contest page. It doesn't get much easier than this. This contradict the previous statement that it’s a challenge, not a cakewalk.

Needless to say, we know you're struggling more than usual, and we hate to see you stress. But because you've tried, and even a little effort in this world has its reward, the 5-Hour Energy Guy is putting on his sympathy hat and giving Twitter fans some free answers so that you, too, can have a chance at the 1-year supply.

To get some free answers you need to do two very, very simple things and you need to do them before the MARCH 12 deadline:

First, we need to know if you're 5-Hour Energy Featured Fan material. So tell us how 5-Hour helps with your workout in 400 words or less. I filled out the Featured Fan form & now want some answers to the quiz for the 1-year supply". He'll tweet you back with some answers ASAP.

If you're not already tweeting but are a Facebook fan of 5-Hour Energy, just post that same phrase on the wall and we'll message you back answers on Facebook.

It doesn't get much easier. Take the two quick steps and you'll be in the running with free answers for 1-year supply accompanied by a 3-month supply and your own page on the 5-Hour Energy site. Remember, MARCH 12 is when this opportunity is complete. Take the quiz as many times as you need to get it right.

Wallace Keeps the Show Going in Vegas

Steve Wallace gave the NASCAR Nationwide Series fans another Top-10 performance in the desert and kept the 2010 show going for 5-Hour Energy Racing and its new Toyota Camry.

The 22 year-old Nationwide Series dark horse battled a tight race car for most of the 300 miles at Las Vegas Motor Speedway before finishing in tenth place on the 1.5 mile oval. Wallace stated that the car had some big horsepower, but having slight issues in turning the car made it difficult to hold the competition off in the corners.

Wallace's persistent execution on the track has made him one of only four drivers who head into the Nationwide off-weeks with a top-ten finish. Following Saturday’s race, Wallace climbed one spot—to sixth—in the championship standings. He's currently a single point behind reigning Nationwide champion and Sprint Cup favorite Kyle Busch.

The Nationwide drivers will enjoy a few weeks off before heading to one of the fans' favorite tracks, the circus that is Bristol Motor Speedway. Last season when 5-Hour Energy returned to Bristol, the team chalked up an impressive top-10. We'll see if Wallace can stay alert and avoid what is sure to a rubber burning, brake smoking, metal crushing race day on March 20.

Top-10 Again for 5-Hour Energy at Fontana

5-Hour Energy Racing driver Steve Wallace brought home another impressive performance in the #66 Toyota Camry with a sixth place finish in the Stater Bros. 300.

This week's Top-10 at Auto Club Speedway is Wallace's second consecutive for the season and keeps the momentum going for the 5-Hour Energy crew.

Wallace started the weekend with a fast car. He posted the fourth fast time of 41.222 seconds (174.664 MPH) during Friday's practice and was one of only five that to make it into the top-ten in both of the day's practice sessions. When it came to qualifying, Wallace got the 5-Hour Energy car within striking position for the big show with a 12-place grid position.

After the two hours and six minutes of racing, 12 lead changes ,and four cautions, Wallace had moved up to sixth place just behind pole-sitter Joey Logano.

Wallace and his 5-Hour Energy Camry are headed to Sin City for the Sam's Town 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway sitting solid in seventh for the NASCAR Nationwide championship. Along with the new car for this season, the fresh 5-Hour Energy Racing crew chief, Scott McDougall, helped Wallace battle his way to a great finish to the first race of what will be an exciting series.

Showing that same perseverance form the 2009 season, Wallace maneuvered through the setbacks and brought Rusty Wallace Racing a tenth-place finish at the world's premier oval track. Together McDougall and Wallace kept the 5-Hour Energy car at the front of the pack after narrowly escaping three separate accidents and sustaining minor damage in one. Even with all the obstacles throughout the race, Wallace lead three laps, posted four fastest lap times and made 135 passes.

Wallace said after the race that the #66 5-Hour Energy Camry was a bit loose. This coupled with the damage made it difficult to grab that vital draft and make a run at the lead.

Wallace also noted that the 10th place finish, although a first for the team at Daytona, is just not enough. The team wrapped up the 2009 season with a strong and persistent performance and they hope to carry that forward through 2010 with more wins and more awards.

Wallace and the 5-Hour Energy crew are making the long haul from Florida to Auto Club Speedway in Southern California for the Stater Bros. 300 on February 20.

Energy Boosting Valentine's Gifts

It's time to reconsider what you're giving as a sign of your affection and love this Valentine's Day and put some thought into gifts that will excite the senses instead of the dull, lackluster, overused gifts. Here are some ideas to show your love and boost the energy.

Tunes - The right melody or track can invigorate the mind and motivate a person to keep pushing through a workout or the daily stress at the office. Picking out perfect, energy-pumping tracks for your admirer takes a lot of thought, and for most the thoughtfulness means more than the price.

Photo Album - Much the same as finding those right tracks to get the heart pumping, photos of you and your significant other doing adventurous things and sharing good times can rekindle that energetic spirit. Having a collection of those times when you were away from the redundant daily routine and building memorable experiences together can spark ideas of future voyages and give you both something to look forward to.

Spa Day - Thinking of a massage immediately sparks the thoughts of relaxation and calmness, not bouncing-off-the-walls energy. But sending them off for a relaxing day will put him or her in a soothing state of mind. They may be restful immediately after the massage, pedicure or yoga session, but within a few hours or the next day they're mind will be alert and soul will be energized.

Tickets to a Show or Game - Think about how excited they'll be when they open a card and find passes to an upcoming performance or sporting event. The anticipation for the affair will boost their enthusiasm and your thoughtfulness, and even sacrifice, to send take them there will be applauded.

Valentine's Day is one of the easiest gift-giving occasions in which too many stick to the standards: card, flowers, box o'chocolates, and jewelry. This year, put just a hint of thoughtfulness into something different and give them that one thing everyone wouldn't mind having a dash or two more of - energy.

5-Hour Energy Racing Awaits the Green Flag on the 2010 Season

5-Hour Energy Racing is back on the grid and ready for more 200+ mph action for 2010 in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.

After the checkered flag dropped on the 2009 Nationwide season back in November, the 5-Hour Energy Racing crew has been working meticulously to get the new #66 5-Hour Energy Toyota Camry primed and ready to rock in the season starter at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, Feb. 13 in the DRIVE4COPD 300.

Driver Steve Wallace, son of NASCAR great and team owner Rusty Wallace, will enter his third season with 5-Hour Energy Racing. Wallace received a number of accolades during the '09 season including a "Most Improved Driver" award and being part of the only team to have both drivers finish in the Top-10.

This year 5-Hour Energy is bringing race fans an even more exclusive experience across multiple platforms including Facebook, Twitter and the Energy Shot Blog during the races and throughout the week when the car is not on the track. The team travel, pit box setup, race-day preparations, car tuning and celebrations are more than exhausting for just one race, and these guys are doing it again and again. You can bet that the 5-Hour Energy Racing pit crew has a little something special to keep the alert and the #66 at the front.

5 Energy-Erasing Foods

We do what we can to avoid that Siesta Syndrome by thinking critically about what we eat at lunch and choosing healthy foods. But do we realize that some of our wholesome choices could be contributing to our afternoon cubical coma. Here are five healthful, but energy-stealing foods that you may want to remove from your dieting lunch.

Turkey - Ever wonder why we love to snooze after that Thanksgiving feast? It may be from overstuffing, but it can also be blamed on the star of the show, the gobble. Turkey is high in Tryptophan, which is an essential amino acid. Tryptophan increases the levels of the serotonin and melatonin in the brain, which calm our minds and help us doze off.

Beans - Most athletes will gladly put down the can of beans for a source of protein and Vitamin B, but beans are also a good source of Magnesium, which has calming affects, and turkey's sleep-tripping Tryptophan.

Soy Products - Tofu, soy nuts, and soy milk are great sources of protein, but also rank high on the Glycemic Index. High glycemic foods are digested and absorbed quickly, and this quick absorption causes rapid fluctuations in our blood sugar and causes a crash effect. Low glycmic foods are slowing digested and absorbed resulting in little fluctuation and have proven benefits for health and daily energy.

Dairy Products - A glass of warm milk contains has all the sleepy fun of turkey and beans, with Tryptophan and Magnesium, and it puts crying babes to sleep with ease. The same is true for cottage cheese, yogurt and other dairy products.

Nuts - Another great source of protein, nuts are ranked fairly low on the Glycemic Index, but they have that same secret sleep ingredient Tryptophan.

If you're looking to catch up some the sleep, these are foods you should enjoy, but if you're like the rest of us who need 25 hours in a day, avoid these five energy erasing foods.

Sources:
http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1608/is_9_19/ai_106652957/
http://www.glycemicindex.com/
http://www.rd.com/living-healthy/20-foods-that-make-you-sleepy/article54860.html
http://www.askdrsears.com/html/4/t042400.asp
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/lisa-turner/sleep-advice-5-foods-to-h_b_430606.html

Time is Almost Up on the 5-Hour Energy Final Exam

For those who are familiar with the not having enough time to finish an exam, this is your fair warning. The challenge will be pushing participants to change that negative attitude of "Don't-Want-To" into a goal-smashing "Can't-Stop-Me" demeanor at the gym, on the field, down the trail or wherever they are working out.

Just like any good regimen, there needs to be some preliminary warm-up and stretching before getting the heart pumping and sweat dripping. For the Workout Challenge, you will warm up by learning the benefits of 5-Hour Energy. Your motivation will get a boost by studying fitness facts, drink comparisons and exercise tips. The warm up will conclude with the Energy Drink Quiz, a fitness test of sorts, which can be found on the Workout Challenge page.

The key is to avoid the distractions and focus on finishing in time. It's tough to do when the fit trainer catches your eye or a phone call pulls you from the treadmill. But if your performance is stellar and you answer all of the questions correctly, you'll be entered to win a 1-year supply of 5-Hour Energy shots.

After a short warm-up, it's time for them to get to work. The next step of the Workout Challenge is to try a 5-Hour Energy shot just before a workout and then share with the 5-Hour Energy team what you liked about it, what improved in your workout, how they plan to use it for eclipsing benchmarks and anything else worth bragging about. This short report submitted with a picture of them and a 5-Hour Energy shot in action automatically enters you into the pursuit to become one of 5-Hour Energy's next Featured Fans accompanied by your own profile in the 5-Hour Energy Fan Zone and a 3-month supply of 5-Hour Energy shots.

Although it's an individual challenge, getting support from others can always help. The 5-Hour Energy Facebook page is a great place to share fitness strategies, gather new workout ideas, post photos and videos documenting your progress, and get a well-deserved pat on the back from fellow fitness buffs. The 5-Hour Energy Guy on Twitter will also be sharing similar tips from other tweeps and Facebook fans to keep your workout regimen fresh and that "Can't-Stop-Me" attitude driving.

The 5-Hour Energy Workout Challenge will conclude on March 12, 2010, which means getting ready for spring break and bikini season. It shouldn't take long for fans to realize there is a positive and noticeable difference when a sugar-free, 4-calorie shot is a staple of their new workout.

A Cure-All in a Can

The energy drink and energy shot markets have seen explosive growth in just a few years, and with so many options on one shelf, the efforts for marketers to distinguish their copy cat energy drink and shots from the competition has become more about solving it all and not so much on providing a simple boost of energy.

For many of these new entrants, their strategies to sell include making claims that their drink can give you more than its neighbors in the convenience store cooler. For example, energy Drink 1 will give you A and B, but next to it energy Drink 2 says it will give you A, B and C. It would just make sense that Drink 2 is better, right?

It's come to a point where labels tell you that the drink will pretty much solve it all. You can now find energy drinks that allege improvement in learning, sexual performance, enhanced mood, muscle recovery, coordination, fat burning, motivation and more in just one can. Somehow you just stumbled upon a miracle sent from the energy drink gods right there next to the soda and water at your small town gas station and it will do everything but walk your dog.

The same was true in the late 18th and early 19th centuries when patent medicines, also called nostrums, offered a solution for just about every ailment known to mankind. These so-called remedies were high in hype and low in results. Many contained alcohol or cocaine to give the illusion of “doing something” but served mainly to fool gullible consumers and line the pockets of their promoters.

The emergence of more competitors in the energy drink and shot markets mean more unsubstantiated claims designed to sway your purchase decision. That may have worked back in the patent medicine era, but today’s consumers are much more savvy. You're already able to make an educated energy drink comparison and filter out the puffery to choose what you feel is the best choice. So there shouldn't be a need to trick you into a purchase. We would all like a cure-all in a can that could improve our overall wellbeing instantly, but it only exists in the imaginations of unscrupulous marketers.

A Plan to Persevere in 2010

It's the second week of a new decade and like the many, many Januarys before, the number of gym memberships will be up. Motivation will be strong, sweat will drip and we'll be feeling good. As a matter of course the end of February will be upon us and participant numbers at Zumba and fitness boot camp classes will diminish, treadmills will stand idle and another New Year's resolution to be more active will be deflated.

But this isn't the case just at the gym. We make an overflow of resolutions like saving more cash, volunteering within the community or picking up a new book, just to fall into December without accomplishing any of them. It only makes sense that we all want to do something that will improve our lives, but the number of resolutions going unanswered are abundant because we all have our own little voice that tells us, "it's ok not to do it today" and "go ahead and give in; you can make up for it down the road."

It doesn't matter what your resolutions are for 2010, it's the start of your new decade and sitting there reading this today, you are driven to achieve them. So before ambition escapes, take these few extra steps for planning and make sure you can follow through on at least one goal for 2010.

Grab a pen and paper, open a blank word processing document or have a voice recorder ready. You are going to record all of these so that you have a way to go back and check your progress and stay on course.

Identify your overall goal - You have an idea of what you want to achieve, but the more specific you can be, the better. Want to have enough money for a vacation next summer? Set a dollar amount. Want to maintain a healthy weight? Then you need to identify what that healthy weight is. It should be written in pounds, kilos, body fat percentage, BMI, etc. and not "I want to weigh what I did at 21."

List three or more objectives - Think of these as rungs on a ladder that will help you climb to the top and to your goal. Each objective should have a realistic, measurable feat and a date for when you want to reach it. For finishing a new novel, your objectives could be to read a set number of pages by the end of every month. Writing out each objective keeps your progress on track and breaks the big picture in your mind down into achievable bits. This will also help keep your satisfaction and that high of accomplishment up as you meet and exceed your set objectives.

Accountability and support - We all need a little help and a little extra discipline at times. This is where you're going to pick a few people who will keep you in line and provide a little boost when you stray from the path. Friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors, they all can help you conquer your resolution. Share with them what you would like to achieve and they'll be more than happy to see you succeed.

Have a pat on the back ready - You're going to be committed to this resolution and looking forward to that feeling of achievement when it's completed, but that doesn't mean a little payment during the process is out of the question. Choose something that you will reward yourself with for achieving each objective you listed in number three. Your hard work needs to be rewarded.

Ignore the rest - It's far too easy to compare yourself to those who surround you and lose that clout that you have when on your own. Remind yourself that these are your goals, your journey. Believe it or not, many of those who we are intimidated by would like to see us achieve our goals too. Use them as a motivator, not a competitor.

Begin - Now that the planning is done, close your eyes and look at the back of your eyelids. Envision yourself on December 31, 2010. It's complete, you've done it. You're proud, confident and ready to lay the first brick of a 2011 resolution that you know you can meet. Whenever you feel like your resolution is slipping, just close your eyes and see the finish line.

5-Hour Energy “101” College Commercial Contest Entry Deadline Extended

Enrollment is still open for the 5-Hour Energy "101" College Commercial Contest to anyone who is at least 18 years old and is ready to create an effective 30-second television spots that drive sales, deliver 5-Hour Energy®’s core messages and strengthen consumer awareness. The biggest and most popular addition was the 5-Hour Fan Zone, a place for fans to share their stories, submit photos and compete in contests.

We quickly found that 5-Hour fans are extremely competitive and will take any chance available to beat out contenders in a contest for free shots. The first contest was to name the 5-Hour Energy guy and participation was astounding. The creativity of our fans encouraged us to turn to you for fresh, meaningful promotion ideas and we are doing just that with the current College Commercial Contest in which we want you to pitch the next 5-Hour Energy commercial.

The interaction with our fans showed that many fans had a devotion to include a 5-Hour Energy shot into their daily routine. We also found out through photo and story submissions, tweets to the 5-Hour Energy Guy and posts on the 5-Hour Energy Facebook page that some fans were the perfect icons for the shot. With that we created the Featured Fan contest and went on a search for the top 5-Hour Energy fans who are now showcased in the Featured Fan section of the Fan Zone with their own profiles and stories.

This past year wasn’t just about putting 12-packs of 5-Hour Energy shots in the pockets of fans. In the second half of the year we launched two new flavors, grape and pomegranate, which have gotten great reviews. We also did a little bit of educating on energy drink topics, including the Obesity Tax that hit Capitol Hill, how caffeine can ease the pain of a workout, and a comparison of 5-Hour Energy Shots to the large, sugary canned competitors in a battle of nutrition, convenience and cost. Learning may not be the most exciting part of your day, but we definitely reward it with contests like the Energy Drinks 401 Exam, which is open until Jan. 29, 2010.

In news the 5-Hour Energy Racing Team entered the NASCAR Nationwide Series for a second season with two cars and two young wheelmen. In the No. 66 Chevrolet Steve Wallace, son of legendary Rusty Wallace, finished in an impressive 7th place for overall championship standings. His teammate in the No. 62 Extra Strength 5-Hour Energy Chevrolet, Brendan Gaughan, was in competition for Rookie of the Year and sealed a 9th place finish for the year. Both drivers battled through the frustrations of mechanical issues, endured exhausting temperatures of the cockpit and kept a focused, consistent performance to earn 5-Hour Energy Racing the distinction of being the only team to have both drivers in the Top-10.

But it wasn't just the 5-Hour Energy Racing Team that was making headlines. In late night TV hosts Jay Leno and Jimmy Fallon both had 5-Hour Energy in episodes and satirical daily news anchor Steven Colbert was giving it as a gift for Rosh Hashanah. Further convincing us that our fans are diversified and there are a variety of ways 5-Hour Energy helps them to do what they do better.

Our team is nothing short of ecstatic for 2010 when there will be more fan interaction, input and appreciation, and contests will be plenty and prizes are sure to be bigger. We wish you the best for the New Year and that you find a 5-Hour Energy when low energy keeps you from sticking to your resolutions.

Quell the Stresses of the Holidays with a 5-Hour Energy

It's the holidays, a time when being cheerful and merry is almost required by law. But if you're like most, this time of the year is stressful, fattening, and worst of all, energy draining.

No matter what you do, it's just that much harder during the holiday season. For the professional the work schedule is usually more demanding because of the end of the year deadlines. For the college student it's cramming for finals and pulling all-nighters on projects. Gym visits diminish, trading time on the treadmill to time in the mall. And baking cookies and candies for the upcoming festivities makes snacking so easy.

At the end of the day you're not just tired, you're beat. Then the sun rises, the alarm chimes and you drift out of bed lethargically and dreading that approaching holiday with the in-laws.

Coffee and soda can help keep you going, but how long do they last before you have to reload? Instead, take one 5-Hour Energy then see how long you can go. 5-Hour Energy’s blend of b-vitamins, amino acids, and as much caffeine as a cup of the leading premium coffee can help you feel bright and alert for hours, without the crash or jitters,

You have to just keep it up and the normalcy of life prior to the holidays will return. The team at 5-Hour Energy wishes you an alert, motivated and above of all happy holiday!

Featured Fan is Star of Latest 5-Hour Energy Commercial

Jason Miyagishimia began his quest to get fit back in August 2007, and with a little help from 5-Hour Energy shots to keep him driven through workouts and to stay on track with his routine, he dropped 80 pounds. Drivers Steve Wallace and Brendan Gaughan have climbed the ranks with persistence and steadiness when traffic was heavy and their cars were struggling. Their alert, dependable and sometimes edgy driving took both to celebrated top-10 championship series finishes, which was unmatched by another other series team, and broke personal records.

The 2009 Nationwide Series concluded at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 21. After 300 miles Wallace chalked up another great driving feat as he took his No. 66 Chevrolet Impala SS from a hopeful 15th position to a striking 8th-place finish, a performance unrivalled by any non-Cup Series driver. It was Wallace's second-straight top-10 finish, adding a fifth top-20 finish in his 5-Hour Energy machine for the 2009 season, and secured the 7th-place ranking in the final Nationwide standings.

Wallace's teammate and pilot of the No. 62 5-Hour Energy Extra Strength Chevrolet, Gaughan, kept with the theme of the season and finished just one position back from where he began the race. Gaughan's consistency clutched the 9th-place position in the final season rankings and wrapped up the 2009 season with 12 top-20 finishes.

5-Hour Energy Racing has been more than impressed with the young and talented wheelmen and the affiliation with Rusty Wallace Racing. The two teams announced back in August plans to continue their partnership into the 2010 season, with 5-Hour Energy as the primary sponsor of Wallace's no. 66 car. Like the idea from the movie There's Something About Mary that we used for the Blog post "Blowing 5-Hour Energy Right Out of the Water". To add to the list, Jay Leno also did a spoof of a 5-Hour Energy commercial on his new primetime gig The Jay Leno Show. Leno's 5-Day Energy shot has enough energy to "get you through the week….and do everything you dreamed of". See the 5-Day Energy commercial here at 7 min. 40 sec.

5-Hour Energy recently appeared again on late night TV when former Saturday Night Live cast member Jimmy Fallon interviewed SNL pal Jason Sudeikis on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. After talking about working with singer Taylor Swift and the skits he pitched her, Sudeikis told Fallon how he took care of his low on energy before the show with a 5-Hour Energy Shot.

Sudeikis even brought one for Fallon to try and gave the crowd a laugh when answering Fallon's question about taste. We think he needs to try the new Grape or Pomegranate flavors that fans are raving about.

You can watch the full interview with Sudeikis on below or just fast forward to the last minute (about 2 minutes in) and watch Sudeikis gave Fallon a the gift of 5-Hour Energy.

See video here: http://www.latenightwithjimmyfallon.com/video/clips/jason-sudeikis-interview-part-2-11309/1172431/

And Then There Were Two

With just two races left in the demanding and exciting 2009 NASCAR Nationwide Series season, it's time to take a quick look at where the two drivers of 5-Hour Energy Racing are ranked and how the final push for points heading into Phoenix and Homestead will be supercharged with a few extra 5-Hour Energy shots.

All season Steve Wallace has combated shredded tires, crumpled sheet metal, mechanical failures and spinouts to prove that he is among the finest in the Nationwide Series. Piloting the No. 66 5-Hour Energy Chevrolet has had its ups and downs for Wallace, but his consistent driving, zeroed-in focus and physical endurance has earned him a solid seventh place in overall championship points before heading to Phoenix International Speedway for the Able Body Labor 200.

Making a stunning Rookie debut at Bristol Motor Speedway with a pole position qualifier, Brendan Gaughan has impressed the 5-Hour Energy Racing team in the No. 62 Extra Strength 5-Hour Energy Chevrolet throughout the season, continuing to push hard from ninth place in championship points. Gaughan has also been in close competition for the Rookie of the Year title with Justin Allgaier, Michael Annett, and Michael McDowell. Gaughan's noteworthy performances in this 2009 season include three Top-5 finishes and 8 Top-10 finishes, which he'll hope to add to first at Phoenix and then at the season-concluding Ford 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 21.

Thanking Our Veterans and Continuing the Support to the Frontlines

5-Hour Energy would like to honor those who have served and are currently fighting for our country on Veterans Day. We just wanted to take this special day to say it again.

Thank you veterans

– From 5-Hour Energy

5-Hour Energy Introduces Newest Featured Fan and Winner of a One-Year Supply of Energy Shots

The 5-Hour Energy team is proud to introduce Kathryn Springer of Paris, Texas as the brand’s newest Featured Fan and winner of the team’s biggest prize to-date, a one-year supply of her favorite 5-Hour Energy shots. Kathryn is a mother of one, working hard to keep her family afloat in today’s downed economics, but also, with a little help from 5-Hour Energy, she able to manage in a 20-hour college load and enjoy time with her family.

As with previous Featured Fan winners, we had the 5-Hour Energy Guy interview the recent addition to the 5-Hour Energy VIP list.

Energy Guy:
Kathryn, when did you start taking 5-Hour Energy shots?

Kathryn:
I had my first shot in 2008. I started to notice that when the end of the week crept up and it was about midway through my day, I ran out of energy to accomplish the things I needed to do.

Energy Guy:
What made you start taking 5-Hour Energy shots?

Kathryn:
I began college and needed a little extra lift for early morning classes, which most college students can agree to. But I’m also working full time and have a family to spend time with.

Energy Guy:
Before you became a fan of 5-Hour Energy, were there any other energy drinks or products that you used?

Kathryn:
Just about everything on the market!

Energy Guy:
What did you first like about 5-Hour Energy shots?

Kathryn:
It was fast acting, and I was able to focus more on the tasks at hand.

Energy Guy:
Between your personal schedule, your family schedules and everything else that comes with being a working adult, when during the day do you take 5-Hour Energy shots?

Kathryn:
Whenever I need a boost, which is usually before those a.m. classes. After my first shot of 5-Hour Energy I am more alert and focused without the dreaded "crash" I have had from some of the other energy drinks on the market.

Energy Guy:
In what ways have 5-Hour Energy shots improved your life?

Kathryn:
Since using 5-Hour Energy I have that boost to do the daily chores and beyond. What’s even better is that my grades have improved from a B to an A because I’m able to better concentrate when I study. I recommend 5-Hour Energy to my friends when I realize they are running out of steam too. They love not having the crash either. This is, without a doubt, the best product on the market

Big Contest, Even Bigger Rewards

After months of online competition, the 5-Hour Energy team is happy to announce the winners of the 5-Hour Energy 100m Dash and 5-Hour Energy Scavenger Hunt contests.

The 5-Hour Energy 100m Dash Flash game put contestants in control of the 5-Hour Energy Guy as he sprinted to the finish line. It seemed easy enough at first, but players soon found out that grabbing a 5-Hour Energy shot for that extra boost and avoiding the sugary alternatives would be the key to record times. It came down to mere tenths of a second that separated the top three finishers with fastest fingers in the nation.

Congratulations to 5-Hour Energy 100m Dash winners!

First Place – Mahrlo Amposta of San Diego, CA

Second Place – Bryant Nguyen of El Cajon, CA

Third Place – Matt Olsen of San Diego, CA

The 5-Hour Energy Scavenger Hunt sent fans on a search for special 5-Hour tokens across the Fan Zone, MySpace profile and Twitter page. When a token was spotted the contestant put the code in the contest form and then submitted their findings to the 5-Hour team. Winners were picked at random from the list of hundreds who found all of the 5-Hour Energy tokens and codes.

Congratulations to the 5-Hour Energy Scavenger Hunt winners!

First Place – Mark Adams of North Wilkesboro, NC

Second Place – Eowyn Grecco of Young Harris, GA

Third Place – Tom Bealer of Levittown, PA

Prizes are always important for a contest and the winners above all got a 5-Hour Energy t-shirt and hat. But better yet, third place winners get a week’s supply of 5-Hour Energy shots, second place contestants are taking home a one-month’s supply of shots, and the crowned champions in first place will have a 5-Hour Energy shot for every single day on the calendar with a one-year supply!
