LEE ANDERSON
Marathon Runner
Owensboro, KY
My name is Lee Anderson. I am 51 years old and have been a runner since I was in high school. I am currently training for the St Louis Marathon. My string of consecutive days running goes back to January 1st, 2000. This will be year 10 of that streak. Over the years I have tried many new ideas in food and drink to give me an edge – legal, over the counter stuff only. This year I decided to give 5-Hour Energy a try, mainly because of the runner on the bottle, and have noticed a difference.
My long runs are 23 miles and last about three hours. Normally, after about 18 miles, or around two hours, all the calories and energy stored up are gone. The last miles are run on will power as my body struggles to break down complex energy stores that are left. This is typical of of average runners, and not something that elite runners usually ever epxerience because they run the the whole distance in two to two and a half hours.
For me, 5-Hour Energy seems to fill the gap from miles 18 to 23, and I hope, beyond. Thank you.
I work every day and get up around 4:30 to get my run in. Even at 51 I plan to keep running as long as I can. My ambition is to complete a 12 hour, and eventually, a 24 hour run. Why? Just to see if I can. |
