Clint Bowyer Charlotte Coca-Cola 600 Race Summary
Clint Bowyer Race Summary: No. 15 5-hour ENERGY Toyota driver Clint Bowyer finished 13th in Sunday night’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Bowyer started fifth and raced his way to third in the opening laps. He raced in the top-five for the first 90 laps and the top-10 for the first 120 laps. As the track conditions began to change Bowyer’s car continued to lose grip. The No. 15 team battled to stay on the lead lap until eventually losing a lap around lap 250. The fast pace of the race made it challenging for any cars to return to the lead lap. Only nine cars finished on the lead lap. With 45 laps to go the 5-hour ENERGY team came to pit road for its final service and returned to the racetrack in 19th after the pit cycle. Bowyer raced his way up to 13th in the final 45 laps. The No. 15 5-hour ENERGY Toyota team returns to action next weekend at Dover International Speedway.

BOWYER QUOTE: “The 5-hour ENERGY Toyota was fast at the start of the race, but as the track changed from day to night it didn’t go the way we’d hoped. We struggled a bit tonight, but to bring home the finish we did says a lot about our team. We never gave up and worked on it all night. I wish the result would have been a little better, but I’m proud of my team. I’m ready to get to Dover and see what we can do there.”
