Watkins Glen Race Report
Clint Bowyer Race Summary :No. 15 Toyota driver Clint Bowyer finished sixth in Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Watkins Glen International. The Michael Waltrip Racing driver started in the second position and ran in the top-10 throughout the 355-kilometer race. Bowyer battled a tight condition, but the Brian Pattie-led crew stuck to its strategy of using only two pit stops, which limited the team’s ability to make adjustments. The No. 15 restarted fifth with two laps to go, but dropped one position before the checkered flag. Bowyer remains second in points trailing Jimmie Johnson by 75 points with three races remaining before the start of the 2013 Chase for the Sprint Cup. The No.15 team returns to action Sunday at Michigan International Speedway carrying the 5-hour ENERGY colors.

BOWYER: “The PEAK/Duck Dynasty Toyota was fast today, but we just struggled with it being a little too tight all day. We stuck to our pit strategy and didn’t get a lot of opportunities to make adjustments, so we kind of just had to go with what we had. It was a good day – not great, but good. We gained a couple points on the 48 team and gave ourselves a little more room over 11th. We always want to win and give ourselves a chance, but we’ll take what we got today and continue on to Michigan.”
