New Hampshire Race Report

Clint Bowyer Race Summary: No. 15 5-hour ENERGY Toyota driver Clint Bowyer finished 17th in Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The Michael Waltrip Racing driver started 16th and slowly worked his way up to 13th by the competition caution on lap 30. Bowyer fell to 36th following an issue leaving his pit box during the lap 30 stop. Bowyer did not pit during the lap 201 caution and moved from 13th to the lead. He gained a bonus point for leading lap 201. Bowyer remained in the top-five until he pitted on lap 243 and a caution flew on lap 245 dropping him lap down. Bowyer earned the lucky dog on lap 247 to return to the lead lap. Bowyer pitted again when a quick caution flew on lap 252, but again had an issue on pit road dropping him to 27th. Bowyer took four tires and raced his way to 17th in the closing laps. Bowyer returns to action Sunday at Dover International Speedway driving the No. 15 Raspberry 5-hour ENERGY Toyota benefitting Living Beyond Breast Cancer. He is 10th of 13 drivers after the second of 10 races in NASCAR’s 2013 Chase for the Sprint Cup.

BOWYER: “The 5-hour ENERGY Toyota was fast all weekend, but we stubbed our toe a little today. We just had a hard time in traffic and couldn’t get through the corner like we would have liked. We gambled on track position and I thought we’d be fine, but that caution right after our pit stop killed us. It was a tough day overall for the team, but we aren’t done yet. There is still some time in this deal and we plan to make some noise before it’s over.”
