After 650 name suggestions and over 400 votes, the public has issued a clear mandate: Energy Guy – don’t you go changing.

“Frankly, I’m a little relieved,” said The Energy Guy. “Going through life as a black silhouette is hard enough. Accepting a name given to me by perfect strangers would have been too weird. I was willing to do it for the team, but… I’m just glad people accept me for who I am, name and all.”

Among the more imaginative nominations were Buzz Bomb Tom, Ewell B. Stoked, Fastie McQuick, Nomar Crash and Speedy Speederstein.

“I could have lived with Dash or Marathon Mike or any of the names that made the final cut, but Fastie McQuick? Runny McRunfast? I’d never get a date in this town again,” said The Energy Guy. “I am now, and always will be The Energy Guy.”

The Name the Energy Guy contest was just one of 5-Hour Energy’s fan-focused activities.
